Spring Hair Bow/ Hair Clip holder

I decided to make a Spring version of my hair bow/ hair clip holders.   My girls do have a three bin compartment with alot of hair accesories in them but I like to have my hand made special bows displayed out in the open.

Links to other Bow Holders Valentines, Halloween, Fall, 4th of July.

I started off with my super of a deal .89 cent chalk board signs from Micheal's clearance section a while back.

Wax paper to cover so I can design without making a mistake.
Like how I first thought I would use the white bird but changed my mind and went with two birds.

Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere them together.
Some Vellum card stock scraps and also some Tombow Mono Liquid Glue again.
I trimmed them down and added more glue.

I started with the center letters and worked my way out to make sure I centered the word Spring.
I am using 22 inches of gross grain ribbon.

One 3/8 inches wide for the center and two 7/8 inch wide for the outside edges.

My grid mat makes placement very easy.
I was going to use 20 inches and glue the two inches but I decided to go with 21 inches and glue down the 1 inch remainder.
All done, I added some tiny black pearls for their eyes.

Side view, sparkly silver thickers I think make it perfect on the black chalkboard frame.

Rainbow Alligator Clip

Decided to make a Rainbow Alligator Hair Clip.

I started off with 4 inches of 3/8 inch gross grain ribbon in Rainbow colors.

Using a alligator clip to hold them down while I glue the bottoms.
I flipped it over and lifted one at a time the ends in the center and added a small dab of glue.
I then glued the bottoms down, one at a time.

I trimmed and heat sealed the edges.
I lined a Alligator clip with white 3/8 inch gross grain ribbon.

I added one side starting with the red then curved it over to give it the Rainbow curve.
I cut anouther piece of white gross grain ribbon 3/8 inches wide and heat sealed one edge.

Glued it to the back.
Glued and wrapped around to the front and glued to the back.
I took a 4 inch piece of white gross grain ribbon in 3/8 inch wide and folded it in half.

It just made it easier to see the center, add a little bit of hot glue to the center and fold each side over to create bow loops.
Take a scrap piece of white gross grain ribbon again the 3/8 inch wide and wrap around the center.

Hot Glue to the back.
Adding some Hot Glue to the center of that bow and placing ontop in the middle/center of the Rainbow.

I added a clear sparkly gem from my stash with more Hot Glue to the center of that.
I used some gold and yellow Vellum from my stash and a Stampin UP die to create the box.

I used more gold and yellow Vellum to create the tag using a Stamps of Life die and a circle punch with with card stock for the center.
The bow just slips inside.

This bow I started with the red again just a different outcome.

Feel free to try different folds just always start with the red.

Valentines Bow Holder

Oh how I love making bows and clips for my girls and sometimes family and friends as well as to sell.

I like to keep the themed bows seperate and put away with the decor of the Holiday so I needed a Valentines Day Bow Holder.

I am also going to enter this into Global Design Project #071, which is a 3D anything but a card.

Would you like to play along, CLICK HERE.

I started with these chalk board frames I got from Micheal's a while ago on Clearance for $0.89 under $1.  Normally $4.00, lets just say I went back and picked up almost all of them, variety of sizes and colors.

I am using some Wood elements, just placeing them to see how I like them.
The small wood hearts I am not sure which company but the large wood heart I picked up this Valentines at Hobby Lobby.

Using Holiday Red paint color.
Again I am not sure where I got the wood Love but I am heat embossing it with Silver Embossing powder, I do this a few times to get a nice shinny thick layer.
I turn the sign over and line it up with my grid mat so I get my ribbon straight.
I use a lighter to seal the edges and a hot glue gun to adhere them to the back.

Its about 20 inches of ribbon from Micheal's Christmas clearance time, its a red burlap type feel to it.

3/8 inch wide.
All Done.

Would you like to know how I made that cut felt flower with heart bow, CLICK HERE.
This will hold lots of bows.

White Felt Flower with Red Felt Heart

OH, how I love Hobby Lobby during the Holidays, they always have such cute what they call stickers, that are made from felt and have a small foam piece adhered to the back which is easy to remove which makes it awsome for Hair Clips, Alligator or Barrette style.

Here is the packaging, White Felt Flowers with a Red Felt Heart in the center.

There are four pieces inside, they call them stickers.

I got them for $2.09 Regular price $2.99, they were 30% off, sometimes these do not last on the shelves so I get them when I can.
Here I pulled most of the foam sticker off the back.

I then used scissors and a exacto knife to get most of the rest off.
From Hobby Lobby also I use their the Jewelry Shoppe findings for the clip parts and I always buy two packages of each size when ever they are 50% off.

I am also useing some Micheal's 360 White Gross Grain ribbon 3/8 inch width.
I cut all my ribbons and heat sealed them.

I am using 2 and 2.3 inch barrette clips and 1.75 inch alligator clips.
After I added the ribbon to the barrette clips I made sure I opened them and had them like shown in the photo because so many times I glue the pieces on top backwards and its harder to get the barrette in your childs hair when it opens the other way.
Its hard to explain but I visualize them in the air to make sure I get one alligator clip facing left and one facing right.
Here again, I double check before glueing to assure I do not mess up, but low and behold I did mess up one, OH well.
All done, I will keep four for the girls and sell the other four.

Mummy Alligator Clip

I have always wanted to make a Mummy Clip not only for my girls but also for craft shows.

I found my inspiration on Pinterest, CLICK HERE to see.

I made a holder for these bows, would you like to see them CLICK HERE.

I used a circle die from my stash and some white felt from my local craft store to cut out a bunch of about 2 inch in dieameter circles using my Big Shot tool.

You will need two per mummy, one for the front and one for the back.
I lined a 1.75 inch Alligator Clip with some White 3/8 inch Gross Grain ribbon.

If you need help on how to line an Alligator Clip CLICK HERE.

I Hot Glued some Google Eyes in the center.
These are just about 3 inches long, I did not heat seal the edges because they will be sealed in the inside by putting on the second white felt circle on top.

I used 6-7 3 inch strips on each mummy face.

One at a time a line of glue then the 3 inch strip.
Turn over and add a little dab of Hot Glue to each end and fold over.
I used some last year pre made ribbon bows that have some foam on the back, it is easy to pull off.

I Hot Glued them onto the mummy face.
All done, Hot Glue the other felt circle on top.

Run your glue just shy of the edge so that it will not ooze out when you press the other felt circle on top.
The back, I choose the circle die based on the size of the Alligator Clip, it is pretty much covered by the mummy face.

Poinsettia Alligator Clip

Done it again, taken a Hobby Lobby embellishment and turned it into an Alligator clip for my girls, family, frientds, and craft shows.

To see how I made the Holder for these Alligators clips CLICK HERE.

These come in a pack of 4 for $2.99, I purchased them when they were 40% off.

I gently remove the foam on the back first.
You are going to need ribbon scissors, hot glue, alligator clips, flame or lighter, and green 3/8 inch gross grain ribbon.

Do you need to know how to line an Alligator clip, CLICK HERE.
To make sure the leaves stayed with the flower petals I added a small line of glue that would not show from the back.
I made sure to add the hot glue so that it would connect from the red threw to the green.
Finished clips, front and back.
