I saw this on Etsy and I've seen tutorials on you tube as well. This isn't my original design but wanted to help out my fellow bow makes and show you how to make them.
White 7/8 inch gross grain ribbon to line your alligator clip cut at 4 inches.
This is a single prong clip but you can use what ever you have on hand.
Black 7/8 inch gross grain ribbon for the hat.
1 cut at 1 inch and the other at 1 3/8 inch.
Small bead of hot glue along the smaller piece on the bottom and attach to larger piece.
White 7/8 inch gross grain ribbon cut at 2 3/4 inches, 4 inches, and 4 3/4 inches.
Glue ends of each together to form 3 circles.
Glue the circles together to form the body.
White 7/8 inch gross grain ribbon cut at 3 inches and 3 1/2 inches.
Again glue edges together to form 2 circles and glue those together to form the head.
Using the bunches/glued ends of the head and body glue them together.
Using small amount of glue on the top of the head glue hat on.
For the scarf you can use 5 1/2 inches of which ever ribbon you choose. This is a light blues 7/8 inch gross grain with snowflakes on it.
Glue just next to the opening of the clip, not on the opening a small amount, Almost near the center of the clip. You'll want to leave less on one half to be able to fold over the neck of snowman. Place ribbon pattern size down.
Glue snow man on top.
Fold over smaller section over the neck part and glue a bit to the side of the body. You can add some glue to the neck for support as well.
fold over and add a bit of glue to the part that you glued over the neck to secure/hide the end.
Add a bit of glue to the side of snowman and continue to fold over.
Cut a notch and heat seal.
Finished Snowmen Clippies. I added some gems to the corners of their hats to make my clips personal.
Ensure you heat seal all the edges of your ribbon before putting together to prevent fraying. A lighter works well.
I used a hot glue gun for the gluing parts.
